The framework had become a cage

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a framework when it as enabling structure, giving shape and purpose to a teams play and for years it has been at the heart of SD’s success. The players understood their roles, their limits and their responsibilities. However when the framework becomes the be all...

You’re right Babylon but when we’d got goals early in recent times we were more likely to try and hold on than go full throttle at the opposition.

After that exhilarating performance it’s all too likely we get some kind of reaction and falling away on Sunday. Yes the shackles have been released the players playing with a smile, but sometimes you do need to grind out results and Sunday might well be one of those cases. The classic SD 1-0 er Lit...

There is bound to be scepticism surrounding Mr Pace, the nature of the takeover, his knowledge of the game etc, alongside some rather scary anti-Americanism being spouted more often associated with the left of the Labour Party, but Under him we have seen 4 really good signings, a continuation of the...

Collins commented that everybody was enjoying their football, something which hasn’t been apparent recently.
Of course freedom doesn’t equate to success, we will now be more open, but in my opinion it is the only way we are going to avoid relegation

Now one win does not a season make, but there certainly was more joy about that performance.
Roberts and Collins comments after the match were telling.

Of course it might all come to naught
But it is good to see a more open approach.

Bit like the Labour Party, still members mourning the departure of the dear leader.

In SD’s case a little different as he had brought many years of success
So a few days of grieving understandable, particularly given the nature of his departure.

People will move on I’m sure.

What sort of manager do we want?

Lots of names banded about, some seeming like Laws signings, ie sticking plaster signings. But what are we looking for in a new manager. For me. Young, ambitious, someone who can think outside the box, be flexible, a good knowledge of the UK leagues, not afraid to introduce youngsters. A man with a ...
