Seriously though, it wasn’t difficult to work out the direction in which Drinkwater’s career was heading. Bit like Lennon, etc. When are we going to stop wasting money on these types and invest in some youth ?

Wasn’t Rigg at Stoke at some point ? Or at least he was instrumental in bringing Pieters to Stoke. On that evidence don’t expect us to stray too far from type in our transfer dealings.

I’d be astounded if Dyche plays any young players. Hart, Pieters, Lowton, Drinkwater (possibly) those will form the basis of the changes.
Has he ever used young players in the FA Cup ? Has he ever used young players ? McNeil, Tarkowski and Keane aside. You have to be truly exceptional.

All interesting suggestions but if they’re young or foreign (or both), forget it. What we need is another Erik Pieters. Experienced solid pro, good attitude, a trier, tried and tested in British football. Residing in the Staffs / Cheshire area a bonus.

Pieters in for Taylor for the Villa game. Need that little bit more defensive solidity that Erik offers. Taylor showing some worrying signs of wanting to move forward with the ball in the second half. Not to be encouraged, straight lines for ever.

I don't really have a problem with Pieters as a signing. He was meant to just be backup to Taylor who is a top quality player. I do have a problem with the fact we have to choose between Lowton and Bardsley every week. And don't get me started on Cork again. The back up still needs to be good enoug...

Walters would have been a cracking signing but for the injury he picked up, Bardsley has been terrific. Crouch, not for me, but was no more than short term deal.
