Re: Hampstead Claret RIP

Crundale, please pass on my sympathies. I only knew Michael by sight at school but knew one of his brothers a little better. (That one would be 59/60ish) Like everyone else, I read and enjoyed many of HampsteadClaret's music and football related posts. Clarets4me, I was thinking of Mick Clancy earl...

Re: Things to do in or around the Lake District

Barley is a good stop off en route to lakes. Great boozer, free roadside parking and more friendly welcoming locals than you can shake a stick at. Try it once and you'll be back.....you may even abandon the lakes thing altogether and spend the weekend there. It's that good! Told you before............

Just found a Programme from January 2017 (which does not seem that long ago to me) and there are 27 players listed on the back - how many do you think are still here out of that 27 (without cheating)?

I have been watching TV for more than 50 years and have always been able to here what the chap on telly was saying. I think you may be underestimating Leicester a bit there. I think they will be a top team next season. Now he's left the pub league Rodgers is showing what a good manager he could be and they could be an attractive bet for any player given the chance.

Celtic “drag themselves over the line”

What a joke. Winning your 258th title with “only” half a dozen games still to play does not constitute a tough or tight battle nor can it be described as “dragging themselves over the line”. I know they can only beat whoever is in front of them but please don’t pretend it’s a challenge. As for the p...

We don't need to rely on opinions.
How many goals has he scored (ever!!);
How many assists has he;
How many tackles won;
How many balls given away;
I'm sure there are people out there who will have the answers.
Let the facts decide and drop all this "out of position" nonsense.

I used to watch that with David Coleman and Emlyn Hughes.

On a separate topic, I remember having a stadium tour of Old Trafford years ago and our host was Emlyn Hughes. Was very good but seemed strange him being the host for that ground.
