The second leg win against Spurs already referred to was an iconic night and made me believe we could compete with the best. It was also the night when we saw a Messi level performance from the little master Blake.

On a related note. I was once told by a then senior executive of BFC that if Burnley dyed a flock of sheep claret and blue and grazed them on Turf Moor, several thousand people would turn up to watch.

Mental health provision has always been the underfunded side of health care provision. I think its a (sad) human perspective that its not as sexy and uplifting an event or spectacle as blue light dramas and maternity provision so the general public are not as emotionally involved.... until it happen...

No problem with losing, the economics of it all mean that will happen more often than not. What I find interesting is to see which of our players can compete at this, the very top level and which can't.

Fascinating article. My father a Padiham man, told me he was employed producing cycles in the 1930s many of which were sold to either the Irish police force or post office, perhaps this was the business where he worked.

Nothing wrong with the above analysis. We buy or develop young players and sell at their peak value. We can then afford a Fry or Maehle. This in turn encourages potential targets and the best of the development discards from the top 6 to come to us. This won't stop us needing to keep up to strength ...

Can't disagree with CT's assessment at all. Medium term survival will depend on buying potential and finding and developing young players and selling when they are at their peak value - hard to take - but its the Burnley way as the Chairman has stated. Yes sometimes we have to bring in older players...
