Re: Fixtures

On paper the worst set of fixtures we’ve had was when we finished 7th. We were away at Chelsea and played most of the top teams away in the early fixtures sprinkled with a couple of tough home matches. As it panned out we beat Chelsea and got points all over the place in those “tough” matches. You p...

I’ve nothing but respect for Paul Scholes as a man. My wife was at an event with our disabled son and a man came over and discussed how to get a fast pass. He had one for his disabled son so my wife followed his advice. She recounted this story to me and then in passing pointed the helpful gentleman...

Re: New Kits 20/21

With colour clashes, teams tend to have a 'dark' kit and a 'light' kit - which I thought was to aid the visually impaired... or cynically speaking - just a way to market away shirts. I’m not absolutely sure but it appears in the NFL all away shirts are white and all home shirts are not. Simple way ...

We could do a lot worse than looking at Roma’s back catalogue of kits. Predominantly claret may need to change some amber to blue but they are always smart. Maybe because they are Italian... or is that just a racial stereotype?

The sort of numbers people are quoting would be what we got if we were relegated and needed a fire sale. I would not sell any of them for those numbers. If we could get a Wood clone for less than 20m we should immediately buy him. A right sided Taylor for 15M would be my top priority for the new sea...

I do wonder if this summer, considering the short turnaround, would be right for someone like Dyche to be tempted by a move.

I’d also question whether Palace was an attractive enough opportunity.
I feel this might have been destined for a different thread.

Not sure how Leicester and wolves are overachievers and we are only par. Surely that only makes sense if we are all similar strength teams... which we are not. Id say we were at least 10 points above our par score. City are at least 10 below theirs. Sheffield Utd would surely win the handicap league...

Slim pickings there. From what I’ve seen, which granted isn’t much, that team would be relegation contenders in the Prem. As this is often our market I do hope we are casting our net a bit wider this time.

More impressive is the high claims stats. He is head and shoulders above 2nd place. That is just so important to a team like ours which often has periods of having to defend against sustained pressure.

England's no 1.

Trevor played with his head up. It was that simple(?). He controlled the ball so effortlessly that he was always looking for where to play it not down at his feet. Interesting that Waddle always got more plaudits on the other side for England but to me he wasn’t half the player Trevor was.
