My dad went to that replay at Goodison with one of his pals -- he was still in a rage about the injury to Willie the following day and confessed they had got into "a bit of a shoving match" with some Evertonians who had been shouting abuse at Willie as he was carried off.

Sports have given me some great times and great highs and lows - but definitely the most satisfying, although not the biggest, was finally officially cracking the 4-hour barrier for a marathon (Cape May, 2009, 3-52). I put this down to the fact that just before this event I spent two weeks back in E...

A real human dynamo who always appeared to give his all. Great penalty taker too.

Loved watching Dobbo play. My old scrapbooks are suffering as all the glue disintegrates and the contents fall away, so it took a while to track down these two pics of Dobbo opening the scoring in a 3-0 FA Cup 3rd round win over Wolves at the Turf in 1970. Watching Dobbo and Casper together in the s...

Re: Play off final 2009 - did you enjoy it?
I don't know that "enjoy" is the right word. I was back over in England for a visit in March and saw 4 games - I enjoyed those, well 3 of them anyway - and just had to fly back again to see the lads play at the new Wembley. But as others have said above I was too nervous to "enjoy" it. It was being ...

Reveling in this feeling and have no sympathy for them whatsoever. A club that benefited from the game's original sugar daddy who sent football finance soaring now bleating about money is hilarious.
