Re: ARTICLE: Me and Blackburn Rovers

Burnley 3 Blackburn 3, FA cup tie 1960 sticks in my throat, 3- nil up when ref gives an appalling penalty for handball against Alex Elder. We lost Ewood replay otherwise we would have won the double!

Re: ARTICLE: I have been so proud of the teams I’ve worked with here

Nice that he mentions Long and Tarks, it can't be easy being a squad player getting only the occasional game but every club needs them these days. We won the 1st division in 1960 with 12/13 but those days are long gone. Dyche seems to be able to keep most players happy, in or out of the starting XI.

To encourage voting let's use 21st century technology and vote by mobile phone, Internet etc. Why do we have to trail to a polling station and use a blunt pencil on a piece of string? This would perhaps encourage the young to vote and grey people who don't have the technology could still use their p...

Agree with many of the points above but southern beer really was awful in the 1960s, early 70s. I went to university in Reading 1963 and you sure needed courage to sample Courages. Many pubs put free bottles of lemonade on the bar to top up your pint and take the edge off it. I believe CAMRA was for...

My first season supporting 59/60, champions of the 1st Division with a classy, cerebral attacking team. Goals aplenty from Connelly, Pointer and Robson, scheming subtlety from Adamson and McIlroy, fullbacks to dream of in Angus and Elder and Blacklaw was a very decent goalie. Unsurprisingly it has b...

Paragraphs 2/3 show that Joey was a useless gambler, unsurprisingly a constant loser (as many are). He won nowt but his addictive nature prevented him resisting one further last bet ( and then another!). A mug's game for most but Joey could afford to given his high football earnings.

Is this ban still "staggering"? Difficult to argue so. Joey should have recognised his gambling addiction problem earlier, sought help and advice.
