Heads went after the pen. Better for a while, but nowhere near where we will need to be. Dwight needs to be a luxury away, he is too weak to support the full back. If we can, we could really do with some muscle (and pace) in that team.

I believe the delay was due to confusion we approached Gary Stevens, but after tracking him down found out he was long retired. We next approached Trevor Steven, but he failed the medical before turning to Stephens.

It worries me that so many clubs are bringing in lots of players, all of which everyone seems convinced make them so much stronger than Burnley, while our fans point out how inept our transfer policy is.

Thought so. When we sign a player cheap with a sell on fee and he does brilliant for us we have had our pants down due to the sell on fee. When we sign a player for a larger fee with no sell on and it doesn't work out we have had our pants down due to panicking. I suspect ewanrob thinks irony means...

Scotty was a decent squad player for us. but I believe we offered him a 2 year deal back in 2018, and he rebuffed us as Rangers offered him a 4 year contract, he's also nearly 32 so if we'd have offered him the 4 years which Rangers did, he'd be another ageing utility player, which we really don't ...
