Just seen on BBC Sport that it is 25 years since Lara scores his world record 501*.

I seem to recall that he was about to sign for a Lancs League club that summer but Warwickshire nipped in at the last minute.

There is information on the FA website. It does say that to become a referee you must be 14 years old but i’m sure if you were to contact the local county FA they could do something to engage him from a young age to keep him interested.

The fixtures for the WC don’t make a lot of sense to me. India’s first game is against SA on Wednesday or Thursday this week; it will be SA’s third game and most, if not all other teams will have already played twice. Seems very unbalanced.
