I thought Gibson and Long had a similar feel to Tarks and Mee, just the other way around.
One comfortable on the ball, the other an old-fashioned defender.

He's very much a 'does the job' type player.
You don't notice him unless you watch him, he's capable of a splitting pass, but generally he'll just keep in moving.

You can see why he's had a decent career and the fact he isn't stand out is why he's not always rated (a la Villa)

I still think we only NEEDED 2 players. An attacking midfielder/forward with a bit of flair, pace and class and a defender capable of competing with Mee and Tarks. Jay Rod and Dawson would have been fine for this, plus maybe finally going into the European leagues for a more attacking midfield type....

Kevin Long continued to prove people wrong with good performances.
We are now stuck in the dilemma that the quality of player we need would expect and (rightly) want to be a first team starter, and I'm not sure we can promise that.
