This could be first thread to not end in an argument! I agree with the masses as well, can't argue with prices being frozen. Good work BFC.

Re: Yuto Nagatomo/David Santon

Ward and Boyd are both older than him, so any talk of him being too old is nonsense. He's younger than Marney and Barton as well. Same age as Heaton. We're at a point where we need players capable of playing at PL level and with relevant experience to back it up. If this lad signs for 5 million and ...

Re: Yuto Nagatomo/David Santon

This guy surely represents a step up in quality; certainly on paper he does. The guy has 90 odd caps for Japan for starters and they're a good team. He's also played 185 times for Inter Milan since 2010-2011. That might only represent around 25 games a season (clearly he's a squad player) but who el...

Given we have Defour, Marney, Barton, Hendrick, O'Neill and Arfield (at a push) I'm not too concerned that we've missed out on him. Our money is best diverted into areas where we lack quality and / or depth (left back and wingers then!).

Doesn't fit our framework. He didn't track back with Sunderland on NYE. He gave Ward as much space as he wanted. He'd need to spend some time with George Boyd to learn his craft.

Not a chance we'll sign him if West Ham are after him as well. They'll offer wages we can't even consider offering. In fairness I hope they sign him, Hull are down without him.

I'd actually find it funnier if they came out and said they were looking to move on as soon as someone offers them a figure which covers all debts owed to them as a club... I wonder how much interest there would be if by offers start from at least £100 million?!

I'd be happy with 3 points from those two games if I'm honest. The run of away games doesn't look as daunting as it did before the season began as we play Swansea, Hull and Sunderland. All those three are games we're capable of winning and I believe we'll take 4 points from those 4 games at the very...

The attitude of some Rovers fans baffles me. They had their season in the sun under Uncle Jack and what an era it was for them; something they'll never forget. The lowest ranked team left in the competition at home please.

Obviously in reality we'll be away to another half decent side who mean nothing to us, attracts no excitement and ultimately leaves you wondering why anyone bothers with the Cup anymore - probably Middlesboro or Hull away!

Could be a big loss for Eddie as he was starting to show some good form on the South Coast. Interesting to see Conte using the loan market in this way as well. There's a big difference between being a good player for United, Everton or us. He was very good for Watford and according to a Wigan fan I know he was brilliant for them too. If the issue is this gambling debt can't we give him an incentive to clear it in the form of a bonus if we stay in the PL? Tell his agent he's got 5 months to be a hero and put himself in the shop window. If he hits certain targets (appearances, assists, goals etc) the more the bonus will be.

We'll do very well to gain 40 points this season, very well. That assumes 17 more points from 18 games; 5 wins, 2 draws and 10 defeats. I'd snap your hand off for that if it were offered!!

Andre is the only player in our squad with any type of explosive nature. Yes he's limited but get him running at defenders and they're scared of him. Yes I must add I've also been very impressed with Everton. Ronald Koeman is an excellent manager and he'll strive in an environment like Everton. I hope that we've learnt to be a little braver as our formation is hampering our chances of scoring a goal or two. We can't just surrender possession to the opposition every week at this level because we'll come out on the losing end a whole lot more than we will the winning end!! Whether we play 44...

Middlesborough are certainly the interesting one on this. I posted a message last week with a prediction for the end of the season based on the stats from the 10 games prior to the weekend.
