Re: Shares rocket to their highest since 2011!!!!

My point was that politics isn't about simple problem solving: It's about making difficult judgment calls and having the skills needs to sell your vision to the public, implement it and explain what you're doing whilst retaining popularity, not taking your eye off the ball in case of other problems ...

Re: Shares rocket to their highest since 2011!!!!

If you are all so intelligent, why don't you all start up a new political party and sort out the so called problems? Who's this aimed at? If intelligence was all you needed to run a political party then Michael Foot would have been elected. If politicals was a simple case of "sorting all the proble...

This thread is as daft as the merchant of doom stories we had for two-and-a-half days after Brexit. Brexit in itself is neither good nor bad. It's what we make of it. We've left a bureaucratic disaster which is tied to the monstrous single currency of the Euro. We've also left a political club that ...

I'm simply pointing out that the proposed figures are too high. By which I don't mean to imply that a lower figure would "work" - it wouldn't. Either the figure is too high to afford or so low as to not provide the sustenance it is supposed to provide. This is without taking into account social, so...

I'm simply pointing out that the proposed figures are too high. If Gordon Brown managed to get us into so much debt with his tax credits, imagine how much worse it would be with a universal basic income? It would be many times more expensive. I could go out once a week and holiday abroad once (or twice) a year easily on £1000.00 per month.

And I'd have all the time in the world to top up my "basic income" however I pleased - which I would.

It's a recipe for disaster.

My rough calc is nominal GDP / capita CH = $81k. Nominal GDP / capita UK = $44k. (On a PPP basis CH $59k; UK $41k.) CH proposal c.$32k/annum = 40% of GDP. Despite only scoring the one goal I've gone for Preston.

We created 15 odd chances that night and really should have stuffed them. Brentford first half was the best 45 minutes by a long way but we only sustained it for half the game that night.
