“Bodes” was adamant that WW, at the time of his signing, was a big upgrade on Chris Wood. I did wonder what this based on as Wood’s goalscoring record, in terms of a forward playing for Burnley in the PL, was exceptional.

Brilliant window. We’ve replaced Wood with a young player (29 !) and there’s plenty left in the bank to fund contract extensions for Ash, Lenno, Corky, Erik and Lowts. Good times ahead.

Has to be a wind up (Gosling). I thought Pace wanted to sign younger players with potential sell on value ? Although the Dutch lad, at 30 this year, doesn’t exactly fit that profile.

Vydra, hernia or otherwise, is not the answer. Not a regular scorer in the PL, Championship his level. Say what you want about Wood, and he had his deficiencies, but he was our best and most regular goalscorer.
Needs a big overhaul in the forwards. I’d be potting Barnes and JR in the summer too.
