Not really. We got relegated with a largely Dad's Army team. Of course the more viable players were going to jump ship. It's all about the Premier League unfortunately.

I’m sure VK has looked at the ‘character’ of his young defensive signings and decided that they are all strong minded enough for the rigours of the championship. Probably. It wasn’t exactly unusual under the previous regime to extend contracts of the creaky knees. It’s why we ended up in the position we were in.

We might get 20-25m for Pope but doubt very much we'd get much more than 10m for McNeil. His value has decreased significantly this season. I think we might find it difficult off loading more than 2 players for any significant amount. Albeit we could lose a few more who are past their sell by date ...

It is, but what he's achieved has been so good I doubt any of us could have ever imagined it could happen. No one could deny it was effective but for the majority of the time it was an awful watch.. Anyway, it’s gone - we move on, Just hope we can rebuild, trust a bit in youth, different formations...
