''I seldom enjoy a Burnley match. Lots of big units dishing out dirty challenges and all marching up en masse for the inevitable goal scored from a corner. Can’t stand ‘em.
I do sort of admire Dyche though.''

I really do enjoy reading this website when we get one over on Brighton.
They don't like us - which is funny.

Re: Conifer Removal
If you want to do it yourself:
Cut them down to about 5ft.
Remove branches so there is just the trunk.
Dig them out a bit.
Start to rock each one from the top of the trunk as this extra leverage will soon loosen them.
If the girth is too much you are wasting your time.

Re: RIP Jack Markham - Walton High
Tony L was a big fan. Particularly of Big Vince. He had 'BIG VINCE' emblazoned on the back of his footy shirt for PE.
Unfortunately the 'B' dropped off so it just said 'IG VINCE' lol.
(well it was funny at the time)
I see Chadwick had his BRFC shirt on.

Next to Rodders is Trout or Trouty.
Standige and Cats still go on matchday. Not sure about any others. Used to have a pint with Standige and Rodders in the Park View Post match.

Re: RIP Jack Markham - Walton High
Some good lads in that lineup. Although a couple of years younger than me: Reeves, Routledge and Lumb all used to knock around the top end of Nelson - Townhouse Rd. Think Tony Clark was a Linkside Avenue-er too. Anyone recognise the WHS team from 81/82? We won the Burnley and Pendle school league or...

That football team with Mr. Chapman on the right was my brothers year group. He was mates with some of them.
That year group finished in 80/81
There's a Greenwood in there and a Markin.

Herts: could've been Powell or Dart. Mr Powell had an issue with us all conquering Burnley and Pendle football team. Mr. Birchall took over and it was in the days we played Saturday mornings. Re: RIP Jack Markham - Walton High
Lew Birchall began his teaching career at Burnley Grammar School and moved to Nelson Grammar School (Walton High) in January 1967. I was in my first year as a pupil then, but eventually became a close friend and colleague of his when I started teaching at the school in 1976. I can honestly say he w...

Sad news all round really. Mr. Birchall not only took us for PE but English too. He must have filled in where there were gaps in the timetable. Fond memories of him. Loved doing woodwork, Babylon. Ended up with a young teacher called Mr. Taylor (who ended up at Clitheroe Grammar). Taylor used to bike it in on a Yamaha TY 80 and get rinsed mercilessly for it.
