Re: No Sam Vokes ?
We paid £15 million for Chris Wood - who is better. I think Sam Vokes is a great player and is the best winner of the long ball that's ever existed in the history of football. But Chris Wood is better. Wood and Barnes, as a pairing, are the best we have and we need to hush stick with those 2 in a 4...

I honestly can't see what the urgency is as the question of new players is about their quality first and last, and a) that's if we want anyone . b) That their quality is good enough if we do. No good just signing someone for the sake of it is there as we have seen in previous windows. Because there...

TVC15. Great post. Agree. We don’t really need any new players as of now, people get obsessed with it, it’s quite strange. You would think most would understand how we work by now. Very selective over the players we would like to bring into the club, leading to a ridiculously good success rate on re...

Chris Wood is a 1 goal in every 2 starts PL striker.
Vokes and Barnes pretty much the same too.
We’re lucky to have 3 “one in two” strikers who fit into our wage structures.
That’s in not the most of attacking of sides too Ansbro ole that starved of penalties.

I’d be very surprised to see Defour in the 11 again this season, even if fully fit.
He certainly wouldn’t make my selection even with 3 in the middle and he would make nobodies selection in a 442 which I imagine we will retain now (and should do).

We have very, very good strikers. Barnes, Wood and Vokes all pretty much 1 goal every 2 starts. Which is decent at PL level in a side that doesn’t get penalties and, according to some, has very little creativity or desire to attack. That said J-Rod would be a most welcome addition, we should paid £2...

Think it’ll take more. Unless they are desperate for dough.
If we paid £15/£18m for Wood a year ago then Jay is definitely £20m+ (and they deserve a big profit on their £12m for taking the risk).
