Re: REPORT: Grim on the Tyne
The title is a bit harsh particularly for those of us who live on Tyneside. The game apart, a good evening. The away supporters were in good heart and voice, generally well behaved, stoical in terms of accepting the result/poor display and, as ever, the Newcastle pubs were well worth visiting. I loo...

Jimmy McIlroy played 497 games in 13 seasons - an average, year on year, of 38 games. The same as Cork is being asked to do. Has sports science regressed so much that what was commonplace fifty years ago is impossible now? ...and Jimmy Mac played on a very muddy Turf Moor with wet, heavy, leather b...

Morgan rates Rashid, Root doesn't, that's the difference, leg spinners need the captain's trust, Rashid will always pick up tailenders.

Another good, honest opinion by SD, little to argue with there, we had 2 very good chances and conceded a 2nd goal after a foul on Cork.

Somewhat of a homer, indecisive and let several tough tackles by N/c go including one from behind which led to the 2nd goal. Not one of the PL's better referees.

If May plays her cards right she wins, she holds all the aces. With the DUP she has a narrow majority but Labour is well and truly split ( north and south, leave-remain, anti-semites etc). The problem is May is not bright, has few friends and confidants and can't be trusted to bring home the bacon. ...

Sat in the then Sir John Hall stand in the 1990s at a Newcastle v Blackburn FA Cup tie, 1-1 draw. Newcastle equaliser at the Gallowgate end was so far away that no-one knew who had scored other than it was not Andy Cole or Ruel Fox! Turned out Rob Lee got it.
