Was Colin Waldron's 2nd game for us.
Left back at Southampton the game before, then he finally found the no.5 shirt.

Re: Burnley v Chelsea 1967
If it's the Chelsea match in November 1967...google stats 11v11 shows Bonetti in goal. It is definitely Eddie McCreadie at left back. 1-1 draw.
Morgan & Osgood were the scorers.
Line up : Thomson Waldron Latcham ;O'Neil Merrington, Harris; Morgan, Casper, Irvine, Bellamy, Coates. Dobson 12th man.

Re: 22nd Aug: Four players will not play for Burnley Football Club again
Read that Ipswich boss (then plain Alf) Ramsey spotted how to use an innocuous left winger called Jimmy Leadbitter, to good effect. Playing him as a deep lying winger lobbing balls over defenders for either Crawford or Phillips to take advantage of: this tactic hadn't been tried before and it took m...

A good opportunity now to change the format back to how it was by playing the semi finals at neutral grounds. There's more than enough modern stadias around. Keep the final at Wembley.

Isn't this the Chelsea - Wolves game, 1976, featured this morning on 'The Big Match Revisited' on ITV4??
There was lots of space behind the goal...even a car parked in the middle of the space. This was ,of course, pre Stamford Bridge being totally refurbished.

What was the story regarding Derek Parlane? His name is shown as down to play for us on the Blackpool programme, Dec 1986.
He never played for us, as I recall, but didn't we nearly sign him?

The plan was to start with the 72/73 season through to 75/76 on the 50th anniversary, it was one that was started. But, given I've got some of it ready I am probably going to start doing it this summer given we are probably not likely to be going to football. Will look forward to that, many thanks.
