Re: Sorry Sam

Wouldn't be an eye catching signing but I think Jonathan Walters from Stoke would fit in well with our set up. Bit more aggressive than Sam, plenty of prem experience. Irish connection and doesn't seem too happy at Stoke.

Alternative Tinned Food Challenge

One of my kids is doing a project at school about rationing. I mentioned the use of tinned food and one thing led to another and I ended up cooking a 3 course meal entirely out of tinned produce. Made me realise how much I love it. Not one for the restaurant critic but we had: Tomato soup Fray bento...

Tricky one is this because we are not the kind of club who could afford to spend £10m for someone to sit on the bench but if we picked up a young lad for 2-3m he is unlikely to be good enough to step in immediately. Tarks was a steal at that price in today's market so not sure there are many out the...

Surely Andy Farrell deserves a mention. He might not have been comparable to the skill of more recent players but he played in virtually every position, including keeper and stayed on at the club after his playing days were over.

Looks like Derby will be happy. Going to lose but they've done it the "Derby way" with plenty of sideways passes, some neat one-twos and an outright refusal to change their playing style even though they are losing the game. Great goal by Gray to finish it.

Crystal Palace thought they needed a few signings in the summer to "kick on" and look where it has got them. I seem to remember an incident involving Nathan Blake where things got a bit nasty as he wound up the Longside but can't remember if it was that cup replay. Should have won that game at Bramhall Lane. It was a great away following and a spicy atmosphere.
