Re: Lincoln allocation and prices
Lincoln may carry on whingeing about this, maybe they'll just shut up. Time will tell but this reminds me of an FA Cup tie we had in the 81-82 season against Altrincham. They saw themselves as something better than us at the time; we were in our second season in Div.3 and though they were non-league...

Re: Brady squad number
My dad would never have coped with this - he couldn't get his head round Liverpool opting to allocate the number 5 shirt to midfielders and the full backs just had to be 2 and 3. Have to agree with this myself. Gordon Milne wore no 4 in the 60's for Liverpool and was replaced by Tommy Smith who beg...

Didn't Ardiles wear number 1 for Argentina in the Workd Cup? Ardiles wore No2 and no 1 belonged to another midfielder called Alonso. Ricky Villa had No 22 in the squad and strangely, their 'star' of the tournament, Mario Kempes, did have the No 10 shirt. Captain and central defender,Daniel Passarell...

isn't 22 free? I thought he'd get given that instead of 12, 12 seems a bit odd for a winger At Sheff Wed. they have Steven Fletcher wearing No 3 and defender,Adam Reach wearing No 9. Just seen a clip of this game on Facebook followed by a semi final defeat to Bristol Rovers! Was the Watney Cup the league cup? Went to that game on a hot, late July afternoon in 1972. Went to both games. Sat behind the goal at the Anfield Road End. Derek Scott missed two glorious chances just before half time and then they went 1 up with an og from Brian Flynn who in the first half at least was asked to man-mark Graeme Souness. Too much to do in the second leg but Hansen did clea...

Dyche was certainly very dignified,I thought, in his post-match interview. As for Wenger, the least said the better. An embarrassing about turn from his childish antics pitchside to a pathetic attempt at humourless self deprecation. I know which one I prefer managing my football team.

Wasn't always a midfielder, either. Played on the wing a lot as a club player when wingers scored plenty of goals in a game where teams set out to attack from the first whistle.
