Re: Manchester Students Erase Kipling from History
But the Kipling poem had been written on a wall in the Student' Union very recently without consulting the wider student body. That was the mistake, the poem still exists as does Kipling's history but not newly painted on a wall in a building for 2018 students.

Re: Manchester Students Erase Kipling from History
Fair enough they can paint whatever they like on the walls of the Students' Union building, I can see where they are coming from, a Union of diverse student backgrounds in a multi cultural city in 2018. A long way removed from Kipling's days.

Re: England v India
Was at Headingley yesterday, a fine all round performance by England, all contributed but India seemed dispirited and demoralised. Khoni batted well but captained poorly, fielding was poor and Dhoni looks to have gone on one season too many. A pity Rashid cannot/will not play test cricket.

A poor contest, India never really in the game once England posted 300+. Nice to see Root convert for a change and Willey contributed a 50, am off to Headingley Tuesday, hope for a better spectacle.

The first T/20 match England V India starts shortly at Old Trafford, 90 minutes before England kick off in Russia. A pity that those of us who like both games can' t be simultaneously satisfied. Surely the cricket authorities could have foreseen this clash and re-scheduled but given the organisation...

Re: Lancs CCC underachieving
The ECB has ruined the County Championship in its ever-increasing promotion of one day cricket and this in turn is linked to England's inability to find batsmen who can successfully play 5 day test matches. The fixture list for CC is a joke, April/May then Sept with a few matches squeezed into the m...

Worryingly Bairstow has been clean bowled twice in this test. There is a dearth of batsmen in England particularly openers, Stoneman and Malan are something short, Stokes disappoints and an alternative captain does not exist. Happy days!
