No doubt his advisors will play that card. Whether he’s got genuine issues or not, it’s no good to just keep blaming companies that offer, what is to the vast majority, a recreational activity. You take responsibility for your own actions. So you don't think addiction is a thing then? You just don'...

Too many people want to unload important players, when still half a season to go. This is the problem with transfer windows. The bit in one of the early episodes describing the offices where they decided what every factory needed to make, what quantity, what style/ design, how much to send to each shop etc was fascinating. I love his documentaries. They are always quite chaotic, piecing together seemingly disparate threads but making sense of it at the same time. That chaotic style is perfect for this because the whole collapse was utter chaos.

Wrong mentality for me is that. You can't go through this league thinking some games will be easier than others. Pick your strongest possible side for every game. Use subs wisely but giving people a rest because "It's only Rotherham" is the wrong way to go about it.

Agree on the difference in level but the system really didn't suit him either. He's much better dropping deep, picking. Up the ball and making runs into the box than chasing long balls down the channels. But I never saw him complain. Just got on with it. Top pro.

Maybe the nanagers aren't the problem at Villa. Maybe the club itself is the issue. Very easy to roll out the great player but not a great manager line. But a bit lazy. Who has done well at Villa in the last 20 years? They can't all have been bad managers.

Well yes., but didn't Brighton poach Potter from Swansea? They were pretty much in the same position then as we are now. Yep. But that's not my point. My point is more about this myth that some people pedal that you go from smaller Premier League team, to medium sized team and then to a big 6 team.
