Beyer in CM
Hear me out. Yes, he's our best defender. But I think a double pivot of Beyer and Cullen with Berge ahead gives us much more of a chance without the ball. Beyer obviously would slot in defensively set pieces, and would help protect the back four when the opposition are countering. He's also the most...

Re: Kompany: time to go
The strange thing is, given the job he had when he arrived I don't think he could've gotten the recruitment more right. It was a 10/10 job considering. The summer felt like a kid in a sweet shop who'd got his first paper round money. We saw in his first interviews he's obsessed with scoring goals, b...

Re: Everton match thread
The difference in class is obviously huge between the PL and the Champ, but our approach in terms of signing players and the system we've employed was pretty naive. Buy attacking young players, and go at the opposition with one holding midfielder. It's not even as if the players we bought are bad; O...

They're doing things right now, but it's taken them a heck of a long time to get to some level of quality in the premier league. A club Villa's size should be miles ahead of Burnley, but it's often not been the case over the past decade.

We have a situation where we have far too many options for a few positions, and too few options in other areas. We need to find some stability in personnel and formation, amd stick with them for more than a game. For me the cup is a good game to try massengo and larsen. Tresor hasn't done much but a...

Kompany made his life so much harder in the summer. I admire the ambition but it was very naive to think that many young attacking players with no pl experience would translate to success quickly enough.

I know nothing about Massengo and can’t be many Burnley fans who have seen him ever play. The general consensus I’ve read from Bristol City fans is he isn’t as good as Brownhill. I think the philosophy is the same, we just can't execute it against a far superior set of opposition. We're also missing maatsen in an attacking sense and tellas pace. Both of those players are huge assets in transition to attack. We're caught between the way we want to play, and how the opposition...

Ekdal and beyer as a pair is desperately needed. We do not have the personnel to play 4231, if Roy Keane in his prime was sat alongside Cullen then maybe. Otherwise, Amdouni or Foster needs to miss out for Brownhill, Cork or Massengo. Larsen has to be given a start.

Simple things this, not much to do with formation. Second balls, not sharp enough. Passing, too slow. Decision making, awful. They're still dreaming they have a second longer than they actually have. And in the absence of physicality, we should be at least sharper and quicker.
