Re: Southgate Contract to be Extended
CFC asked a good question higher up about who else would be available and able to do the job but I see that nobody has answered it yet. Assuming the FA stick to English managers those in the running would be Dean Smith, Sean, Potter, Steve Bruce, Eddie and maybe Frank or Steven Gerrard. If you are ...

I disagree gordaleman…. I think we ARE good enough. I look at the squad and I think WOW! Who couldn’t make that lot into a world class outfit, and then the answer is right there in front of me. The tactical genius that is Gareth Southgate couldn’t make that lot into a world class outfit. I’m afraid ...

But this isn’t a political scenario (voicing a documentary about football) so why are you crossing one line with another? I don’t get it. It’s the association Charlie. I enjoyed that, although obviously if you’re too fragile to listen to the voice of a person who may not share your political views reading a script it may not be for you. I agree. And I’d have certainly taken him given his versatility and our lack of squad depth. That said, not if the plan was for him to be a first choice winger & given his age may’ve turned out to be an expensive drain on scarce resources. We’ll only know when we see how he plays for Villa. Anything less than 4-0 SHOULD be regarded as a disappointment. Lets just have a look at the squads for a minute..... Lamb is my favourite, and by some margin.
However, if someone told me I could eat only one type of meat for the rest of my life, it would be chicken. It’s versatile and takes on other flavours from marinades easily… lamb always tastes like lamb no matter what you do to it.
