In my opinion Amdouni will go on to be a better player than Tella. Even this season, not much difference certainly in points. I think Maatsen has been more of a miss.

There's not many things worse than being falsely accused of a terrible crime. Thank goodness in the end justice has been true, though you don't get those 12 months of stress and pain back. Not only do we have to beat Luton, we need to get points where we look certain to lose on paper. All the other teams just above are getting points off the likes of Liverpool and City even. To stand any chance there needs to be a few surprises in there a la Dyche.

Not overly surprised. We have far too many wingers, and both koleosho/Odobert have proven they have what it takes in a struggling team no less. He's 27, much older than the other two, we'll make a good profit and he's pretty injury prone. On his day he's superb, but he's not a reliable starter and i...

More than possible my mind is playing tricks! I definitely remember a 1v1 JBG had vs arsenal on the left edge of the box which would be a bit odd from wide right. And I thought (but might be wrong) he was picking up space centrally especially second half.

I don't think we did establish he was better central, at least not in the Premier League when the onus is more on defending and tracking runners than dominating the game, and the system/set up reflects that truth. Just watch the highlights, no way should he be being beaten from that angle for the second goal. Long barrier required, as per Nick Pope. I'm sure he'll learn, but it's costing us at the moment James Trafford is not costing us anything at the moment. In net terms, he's most certainly in the black.

I remember that season very well. We looked so lost in the first half of the season, and looking at that lineup it's not tricky to see why. For me the best decision Stan made for Burnley was bringing in Paul Cook, which must've been soon after the turn of the year ish in 1999. He was absolutely class.
