Re: pace
Think Pace is very naive when it comes to football Not as naive as many on this thread. Sticking with Vincent may be the wise (and cheapest) move. Sack him, the lower divisions could beckon and the end of the era could be nigh. Keep him, evidence shows there is every chance he will bounce back (and...

As it stands if Forest and Everton get a 10 point deduction for last year, we still stay up with a win on the final day
Yes, I know. It is tempting to hope we don’t.

People getting their collective knickers in a twist about that VAR decision at 3-0 down having played utter w@nk again to that point is hilarious, it was hardly going to affect things Was a bad decision though wasn’t it? Absolutely. I don’t miss having a strong, super well organised, battling team who stays in games to give themselves a chance at all. I’d much rather have the can’t attack, can’t defend, weak midfield, hopeless goalkeeper, tippy-tappy nothingness we’ve got now. When I compare the two title winning s...

Re: Burnley vs Palace Match thread
The other thing that is corrupt about this league, is that the young 30 year old ref on a work experience placement / trial (2nd game in the PL) is hardly going to upset the “company” by overruling a VAR senior official. There should be a single ref. VAR is just there to stuff the little clubs, and ...

Vinny bringing those three on at 90 minutes is arguably the biggest item of evidence for a sacking, though I remain the lawyer for the defence not the prosecution, mainly due to what to expect NEXT season.

Re: Burnley vs Palace Match thread
Interesting that the freezeframe shows the keeper is not getting that ball so it is a goal. Yet VAR denies it.
Would have been 2-1 if we take the offside at the other end too (clearly interfering) but don’t worry, it will level up by the end of the season

Where it is similar is that we were crying out for experience last month to help a relegation slog and we sign 3 youngsters. Laws signed youngster Jack Cork in similar situations. The young players heads dropping has been a similar theme in both seasons, though we had more experience in 2010 and wer...

What a horrid league this is. That VAR delay, the tinny announcement about it, the drum. It really does make the think “why bother”. Anyway…..this really does feel like our low point. Getting to the point soon where we may throw the final game at home to Forest to get a team with a lower spend relegated with us (Luton).
Would be a crying shame for Luton but arguably the pragmatic choice.

Biggest problem is we have a team full of them, other Premier league teams integrate the odd one or 2, not a team full, again can only blame vk for thinking he could get away with it, is he really that stupid, it's very amateur from him, nobody would believe he'd been at the top level as a player a...

What I don’t like about this club though, and this messageboard, is the singling out of 18, 19, 20, 21 year old players. We should be better than that as supporters. Players like Odobert will have quiet games at his age. He is a talent.

On the plus side, Everton under an experienced manager and with better players are at mid table BHA and had 0 shots at half time too.
This is a tough league and unfortunately it looks like many of us need a season below to further develop, probably including Vincent who I would keep 100%.

100% red.
Probably worst performance of season so far.
Brownhill now missing 1 or 2 games so a brainless decision from the captain given Trafford could have made the save.
Really does sum up our season in 5 seconds.

Really pleased for ex Claret Andy Gray with his lad getting the winner.
Brings back memories but it was the departure of him and others, and the arrival of the next crop like Paterson and Thompson, which sent us to where we now are.

It's a shame that we'll never know how our promotion team from last season would have done in the Premier League. Agree. A shame. But the manager clearly thinks they would have failed so really who are we to doubt him? We can see Beyer, Cullen and Brownhill have struggled, to name just 3 examples.

Leicester are on course to finish 10-15 points higher than us last season. If it finished 2-1 Leicester are on course to finish on 105, 4 points ahead of us. Both Leeds and Leicester look far better than we were last season. Both want to attack with pace and purpose. We looked good knocking it about round the back most weeks, but it's what happens in the opposition half that counts. Leeds would need 27 goals in their last 12 games to better our goals ta...

Our run is pretty good if we weren't crap. We basically need to outscore Forest by 9 or 10 points by the penultimate game if the season to give us a chance on the last day. It’s likely Berge, Odobert, Amdouni could all go for £20m each. Tresor for £10m. If need be, Ramsay, Trafford and co would all go for decent sums. I have no doubts the books could balance. That’s before we factor in the possible compensation claim. So I see us in a far healthier state than 20 months...
