His uncle, Bertrand, was also a pro. but didn't really live up to his promise.

All three of them started at Montpellier although Laurent and Bertrand were both born on Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean.

Great first-half. Excellent football played at a breakneck pace. Second-half inevitably less frenetic as Italy looked to hold on to their lead. Three of the main pre-tournament favourites gone (France, Portugal and Belgium).

Over 400 apparently. He played a season in the old Second Division with Wrexham - now that does seem a long time ago - managed by a former Claret.

Wrexham have been out of the EFL for 13 years (after 87 seasons in the League). That's a long time.

Just checked and it was Mel Pejic, his younger brother, who played for Wrexham and Hereford.

They had to be related with a surname like that.

It was a surprise to more or less everybody in France but he's had a magnificent season for Real and deserves to be called up for sporting reasons.

Zaha is still one of the fastest players in the PL. The problem with him is he only makes an effort when he feels like it. Which, despite his perennial wanting away combined with Palace's demand in terms of a fee, is why he's still at SP.

I adored Pirlo as a player. One of the best players I've ever seen. However, it seemed a bad decision on the part of both the club and him. No management experience but that didn't seem to deter Agnelli.

AP will need to start again maybe in Serie B and learn the trade.

Difficult to call the first game whereas I think Swansea and Lincoln will reach the respective finals.
