Isn’t it time that chairman Pace comes from under his rock and faces up to the position we are in and we are likely to go down as one of worst teams to ever to play in the Premier League our home record is abysmal as is our points total. Re: ALK’s Strategy: Are We Witnessing A Failing Experiment?

I'm sorry Colburn but this is just profoundly wrong in every way. Debt is common because cash is a resource and can be used to grow the business. Dent incurred buying shares is not a resource. When it's the Glazers buying United it's manageable risk - when it's ALK buying Burnley it's a totally dif...

Re: ALK’s Strategy: Are We Witnessing A Failing Experiment?

I agree with this to a degree and you are correct about debt being common place. From the other point or view people can also see this in very much a black and white way without the intricacies of debt and ownership structure, leveraging buyouts etc. Previously the club had no debt Now we do. All the talk of debt is distorting the argument. I'm like McCawber, I don't like it at all. That said in the business world debt is common, and what matters is is the debt serviceable. After 3 years of complaints, there's still no evidence that ALK aren't in control of the finances. If the possibili...

He has his work cut out raising the morale of these young players, but so would any replacement.

The mistakes we made are easily overcome with a good window, and VK has enough credit in the bank for last seasons incredible campaign.

Re: ALK’s Strategy: Are We Witnessing A Failing Experiment?

That's just not true at all and for a number of reasons. 1- We had money, we just didn't invest it in the squad. We used it to buy ourselves. 2- We had no debt, not only did we have money, we actually had 0 debt. We could have leveraged some just as ALK have, we'd have been in a much better positio...

The ALK strategy is to buy a load of kids, and only kids, when they become good sell them on and pocket the profit. If that doesn’t work then assest strip. Only reason it came apart is because the club was sold and investment wasn't made available. It's not only the right way to go, it's the only way to go, especially for a club our size. The problem wasn't what we bought, but what we failed to buy.
