Absolutely amazing achievement by a Fabulous Cricketer and Top Guy.
Was said on the BBC when he got the 700 th wicket “ Nice to see Stuart Broad’s mum sat next to Jimmy’s Dad”

Re: India England 5th test
Fair point but many of the others have not scored that many runs and have put catches down ( costing lots of runs).
Pope has several excellent catches and again as vice - captain the second name on the Team Sheet ( Ben Stokes would never leave him out)

Yes I saw your post .
You and Alistair Cook must have the same idea on this .
A compliment to you because AC , imo, is the best cricket brain on TV.

At 79 years old if I had 8 pints before game
1) I would miss half the match going to the toilet
2) The other half I saw , I would be too drunk to follow what was going on
3) I might as well stop at home and follow on TV

Re: India England 5th test
Alaistar Cook said if we can match India’s first innings with our second innings and that would set them around 200 to win and batting last The last wicket (8th) fell at 428 and that score could be achieved if we started to bat with the intention of protecting our wickets with care ( like the Indian...

I knew Linda very well when I lived in Edenfield and travelled to away matches on Boundary Clarets for many years.
Linda was a lovely lady and Claret Tony informed me of this sad news this morning when I was in a Lincoln shop.
My thoughts go out to her family and friends at this sad time .

Root clearly given out when more than half ball was pitched outside the line
Either dodgy technical equipment or deliberately changed for the red light to come on and give the batsman out .
Either way he should have been given not out

I think we have to mix the bash style of play with some periods of defensive play .
England a bit like The Clarets who keep playing out from the back all the time and concede goals for fun , instead of sometimes just giving it a big boot to clear the danger
