ANNUAL IN MEMORIAM DAY:Canadaclaret

I see that today we are remembering fans / associates who sadly passed away in the last 12 months I didn't know about this or I would have asked for Canadaclaret to be included .Steve was a true fan and a regular contributor to this board .During his years at Towneley he was a ball boy on the Turf a...

Re: Owen Jones on This Week

Can't believe #13 was allowed on here..what a stupid thing to say .As Joey said perhaps you should have been on College Green too ! Anybody advocating violence in any circumstance should not be posting on here .

Absolutely right claretdandy ...I can't remember him coming for any crosses yesterday but no cover for first goal .Lots of chat round here ( near Leeds ) that Heaton is off to Leeds...I think he'll be in our team on Sunday

Its just been on BBC Breakfast .Totally one-sided review .Interview with Klopp complaining about Mike Dean and our tackling but only a statement from Dyche...no interview .

Re: Football Autobiographies

Try Jack Charlton:The Autobiography .Covers playing and management career...even the Leeds bit is interesting but there's a LOT more in the book than his career with Dirty Leeds.

Re: Jeremy Corbyn

What's wrong with ASDA stuff...what are you a champagne socialist ? I'm a fully paid up member too but I'm more interested in what comes out of the guys mouth than his sartorial inelegance...having said that I rue the day we got him...we should be out of sight in the polls .

Re: Hampstead recommendations

I usually stay in the Hampstead premier Inn on Haverstock Hill so I'm really interested in the pubs that are being suggested BUT if you have the time and fancy a little walk go down Haverstock towards Camden past Belsize Park Tube as far as the Roundhouse ( old Camden shed for the train spotters ).....

Used to see him regularly in Leeds in the early 70s when he was a reporter for The Yorkshire Post...he used to play at the Globe and the old Central Station Hotel on Wellington street .Can't remember the name of the band.Liked the stuff he did with Chet Atkins .Being an old rocker Walk of Life is up...

Re: Athens

I usually go to Athens once a year so can give you some pointers re travel etc .I use Piraeus a lot because the hotels are cheaper and I use the ferries to get to the Greek Islands. Olympiakos stadium is in Piraeus and the locals / fans don't like to be associated with Athens. I've only seen the sta...

Sad news from Vancouver.Steve ( Canada Claret ) died yesterday in hospital 4 months after being diagnosed with cancer .A Clarets stalwart , he has followed the lads since emigrating to Canada in 1966 and was a regular visitor to the Turf with me when he was over for visits..he always seemed to be ab...

Re: Who do you remember today 11th November

My dad.He was a great Clarets Fan.He was in the navy WW2...On 6/7 march 1944 a small flotilla of MTBs sailed from Lowestoft to attack the German held Dutch harbour of Ymuiden under cover of darkness .Sadly, the Germans were ready for them and gave them a real pasting. All the officers and many of the...
