Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Aberdeen is one thing. This is quite another. Less time to organise and issues with the stadium being in the middle of nowhere. It’s not about giving it a rest. The club infrastructure needs to match the quality on the pitch and it is lacking. It’s all very well saying if you want one you will get on...

I think you may be missing what I'm trying (badly) to say. Surely, to these pro-footballers, a trip to play Aberdeen is barely different to, say, a mid-week trip to Plymouth or Exeter and that "European experience" has been become something of an overused phrased in this context? Now, maybe (defini...

They have only played 3 pre season games.
They got stuffed by a French league 2 side, beat a French 3rd div side and drew at home to Villarreal. I don’t see them as favourites tbh

Looks like good odds to back against them although I would never bet on a friendly.

As someone who listened to 5Live, as I didn't want to be subjected to 'chav central' at the fanzone, I thought he was quite fair in assessments. I think JBG had more than 2 days training so I’m not sure what comparison that is given I have said Pope should play next week after less time back than JBG. You are suggesting Pope should have been on the bench and to quote you "If he’s ready for the bench he’s ready to play"?? It’s my opinion. So you'd have started a keeper whose last competitive game was what? 468 days ago? (or whenever it was) for Preston in the championship? Absolutely. If he’s ready for the bench he’s ready to play. He's third choice because he is not as good as the other two. That does not make him a bad keeper though. Think he will start next week as I don’t think Heaton will be risked.
In terms of the long term I’d say Heaton will likely be back but at least Europe gives the option of keeping more than one keeper sharp by rotating where necessary.

Lindegaard 8 Lowton 6 Tarky 5 Mee 5 Ward 6 Lennon 8 Westwood 6 Hendrick 5 Cork 7 Guddy 7 Wood 5 Vokes 8. A word on Pope.
