Re: Next seasons kit
The big shame for me is the awful-looking sponsor on the kids kit which is what I will have to look at on a daily basis for the majority of the next year. Hopefully this has just been mocked up and they can look to reduce the size at least. JJ Watt is already on social media showing off his kids’ n...

Playing devils advocate, if THB is available for 15m and yet we’ve gone for the untested Coulibaly, could it be that VK saw enough last season to NOT be interested in THB….? - Seems odd also that he would plump for O’Shea instead - unless THBs availability has only just materialised of course and no...

He had that purple patch in the last season under Dyche but overall he wasn't worth signing, I said as much when he arrived and nothing changed my mind during his two spells with us.

So Coulibaly deal is reported as agreed on BBC. Loan with option to buy at 15 million as is Trafford purchase I’ve now lost count of how many CB and GK’s we have. This is getting stranger and stranger by the signing. I am not complaining but I just don’t understand the logic Norris gone - replaced ...

I hope he stays. Luke Steele couldn’t even get in the Rovers team in lower Championship and struggled massively at Sunderland, yet last season he was arguably the best ball playing keeper in the Prem for Brighton. Not the best keeper but quite brilliant with his feet. Muric can certainly be a good ...

In my time watching Burnley we've had 5 England goalkeepers - Chris Woods, Paul Robinson, Nick Pope, Joe Hart and Tom Heaton. Obviously they weren't all capped whilst playing for us, but I bet we've had more England capped goalkeepers play for us than any other team. City have had (this century): J...

Interesting how numbers evoke memories of players who - although they played in the role ‘typified’ by that number - never actually wore it Eg Blake never wore 10 for BFC (8 and 20) Other names on peoples lists include Briscoe Marney McNeil and Barton associated with numbers they never wore for the ...

I worked at The Royal Armouries in Leeds in the late 90s and the Waddle family came to visit not long after his departure from Turf Moor. His son was wearing a Sunderland shirt. Feeling brave I asked Waddle and his wife why he wasn't wearing a Burnley shirt to which his wife replied: "That thing's i...

With fringe players they are often good enough for one or two to slot in to a functioning unit that’s ticking over nicely
It’s when you pick six or seven all at once that the team suffers and the unit stutters - as was evidenced for 10 years under Dyche with his cup selections

Nobody to blame but ourselves really
Johann, Twine and Roberts should all score in that second half from 9 yds but Benny has to show them how it’s done from 25
Poor finishing regardless of the officiating

Re: Pen or no?
Am I right in thinking there’s a double jeopardy rule now that means pen + red no longer happens - ie the pen is punishment enough
Therefore by committing the foul outside the area it benefitted us more for a free kick and a red than a pen and yellow
Or did I just make that rule up….??
