Re: How would you like to see the Premier League season end? - Voting Poll

The problem still remains Tony, that it's just assumed the authorities will let that happen. If you were the police chief of the force where Liverpool are expected to claim the first title for 30 years, what would you think about thousands of fans turning up in your city to watch a game they can't g...

Re: How would you like to see the Premier League season end? - Voting Poll

The problem with these discussions on this and other threads is that people are making assumptions and speculating on what might happen before they give an opinion on what should happen. It just sends the discussion around in circles. Similar to what nil says, you'd think the majority of decent foot...

I agree with n_d that none of this is simple. A lot of views are very blinkered from PL/Burnley point of view and that continuing this season is vital because of finances. Anyone who is happy to void the season obviously doesn't care about teams going to the wall. That's a fairly simplistic view on the situation. If that's guaranteed, then there isn't a problem, is there? No need to discuss a wage cut at all. Should be noted that there's also BT and foreign TV money and that's considerable. Behind closed doors is a huge issue for clubs below the EPL. I suspect the only ones who'd push for that are ones who can get promoted to the EPL. Deferrals will be an obvious answer for some clubs in the next few months.
