I met her, I think, in 1989, when she signed me up for the Burnley Booster Club (or whatever it was called). Logistics didn't work out, but she was extremely nice, as was Frank Casper. She still has family over here on this side of the pond, in Barrie, Ontario.

Just as we had a, to say the least, novel approach to economics during the Ronald Reagan era (Reaganomics), whose basic idea was that by eliminating taxes on the wealthy, that there would be unlimited growth in the economy. Uhh. Didn't work out so well. Bush Sr. had a similar idea. He, too, had to a...

Have always loved the game and the passion of the supporters. Remember watching Millwall on the CBC on a tape flown across the Atlantic and shown on the Sunday. I think the final score was 6-2 for the home side at The Den. I was 4. With the advent of the original NASL, I watched the Toronto Metros r...

Jackson's a rookie, he'll learn. He has to develop a clock in his head and learn to throw the ball away if nobody's open. Baltimore needs to upgrade their offensive line in order to improve their running attack and balance their offense.

And give Barnsley some credit. Pinnock (is that the right spelling) and Lindsay didn't put a foot wrong all day until the penalty, and their entire club fought a very good rear guard action, looking for a replay, all day long.

Another good idea: don't play a club that just shipped 6 goals at home. They had the riot act read to them, and it seemed to work. For the most part we looked like a bunch of plough horses after Venky's were done with them.

Both Wood and Hendrick lack passion. For a club that survives in the top flight solely on passion, this is not a good thing. They both lack a second gear, and the ability to get stuck in. I'm convinced that Hendrick was signed to an extension just so that he can be transferred in the upcoming window.

Being as dull as dishwater is a very Danish trait. That's OK. My grandmother was born near Hjorring, which made her an old "Hjorr", I guess. My cousin's mother came from Asaa, which is pronounced like part of your nether regions. And then there's Aarhus, which makes it sound like you're running a brothel. Lots of fun with Danish words.
