I always felt Deli Alli was destined to be a top player but the alarm bells starting ringing when Mouriniho took over at Spurs and it didn't take long for Conte to show him the door. Its a shame because he reminded me very much of Johnny White as a former Tottenham legend from my youth.

Looking at some of these transfer prices in the PL, I find it staggering. How can this lad be worth anything like what its rumoured Everton want. The figures being banded around make Haaland and Jesus seem like absolute bargains.

Completely over inflated fee for this lad imo. However that's the price top PL sides are prepared to pay to beat off competition and get a quick solution. I'm just glad, in hindsight, that we're doing our major rebuild in the Championship where fees are in the main more realistic.

I must have watched a different game. For me yesterday and since he came back from injury has in the main been excellent. If he'd have put that late half chance away everyone would have be waxing lyrically about his performance and he'd have got MOM. As a former manager used to say 'fine margins'.

Difficult to second guess what system VK will deploy, but my 2 concerns are goalkeeper and a striker. I'm surprised there's not more vocal support for Hennessey, for me he's always been a top keeper and I'd like to see him given his chance, unlikely as it seems.

I used to think Jimmy Connors was the greatest competitor, not just in tennis but in sport full stop....until Rafa came along. A real pity we'll not see him in another grudge match against NK today, but given the longevity of his career he must rank as one of the very best of all time.

Charlie Taylor was the best LB in the Championship when he was at Leeds so with all the years experience since he must certainly be up there. I would say he's integral to us moving forward.

How could I forget Pash's debut match, an evening kick off v Blackpool. We were stuck in Palma airport with the plane delayed for over 4 hours. The cherry on top was a further delay at Manchester for over an hour waiting for baggage. Hence we missed the match but caught the second half on Sky.

Personally I don't think its a good idea to have a squad overloaded with loan players. I know it was the PL but Fulham had around 7 loan players playing regularly but it didn't keep them up.

With the way things are going we're going to need bodies and I for one feel Barnes will be a shrewd extension given his know how and experience in the Championship. That said I don't see him as a regular starter, more of an impact sub.

I too think its too early to make any predictions. Too many if's, but's and maybe's. One thing I can say for certain is that the Championship is a tough league with about 20 wannabe's. I for one am under no illusions, it will not be a 'cake walk' as some seem to think.
