Re: Dyche & Garlick
With regard to our Centre-back situation, Ben Mee will surely be back in a few weeks, and with Tarkowski I would guess that it is a matter of waiting to see whether an offer comes in that we think is acceptable. Something around £40 million I would expect. If it doesn't he stays, if it does then I e...

It reminds me a little of the situation when ITV Digital pulled out. Those with the lowest income were hardest hit, Burnley in particular. Almost every other club in the Premier League will have something to fall back on to get them through the problem period, mostly through subsidies and loans from...

Great news about Johan. He is a player who really does add something to our first eleven, and it was sickening to think that he might have to miss a good part of this season as well. And hopefully it won't be too long before Ben Mee and James Tarkowski are back in tandem again. Things are looking up...

To those who still hold the view that we have money to spend, I suggest you look through the Magic Money Tree thread. It clearly shows how and why our projected income has gone down. I've always thought Stephens is a very good player who would be a good fit for Burnley. It seems that Brighton's owners might be falling into the trap of thinking they can move up a notch and become a free-flowing attacking side. The disparity in club finances has turned the Bundesliga into a non-event as far as winning it goes. They might as well give the trophy to Bayern Munich on the opening day, it's that uncompetitive. To me, this whole business has a strong whiff of Cummings about it, and I fear that he is the person who is now really in charge. A bit like in Lord of the Rings, when you had the evil Wormtongue lurking behind the hopelessly incapable King of Rohan and wielding all the power.

It doesn't really matter how much we offer if the player has decided he would prefer to play for Villa. That will be the deciding factor and is nothing to do with our spending policy.

Not so much the transfer fee, I suspect, as the club the player wanted to move to.
