Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
One of VK’s few weak points is his Vitinho blind spot. Really not sure how he still gets a gig. I presume Vitinho only played wide left because he offers a versatile ability to get back and forward. Last night it was almost a hybrid between our usual 4231 on the ball and in the press, to a 523 in t...

Lukebakio looks exciting. A definite tella alternative. Quick and can play wide right or central striker. Would be a good addition to our forward options I think. Excitingly, I think our best lineup might look something like
Trafford
Roberts Beyer O’Shea NEW
Cullen Berge
Benson Brownhill Zaroury
Amdouni
Brownhill obviously interchangeable for more attacking options if we’re playing a less potent side.

Watching YouTube highlights Berge seems to have a pretty good range of passing to me. Looks very good all round player who I’m very exited about.
Also what makes us think Cullen can’t play a good long pass? He strikes me as someone who definitely could - he’s a good technical player.

He’s had an injury - the bloke isn’t going anywhere. Why would we sell him now - he’d be worth bugger all compared to how good we know he can be after a decent season this year…

Lokonga is the one I am really keen we get.
He’s played a lot of prem games for arsenal so 100% proven, he’s a complete all round midfielder who’d fit in perfectly here, and he’s also young.
If we get him with a loan and option to buy I’d be over the moon.

Finally a left back linked. Badly needed as Taylor is suitable back up but we need someone who’s better on the ball to be first choice.
Centre midfield needs addressing still but the squad is starting to look really quite special.

I think it’s unlikely we sign another striker as we’ve now got weghorst back, along with foster settling in and amdouni who cost a lot and is highly rated. I can’t see us spending much more than another £20 maybe £30 million. Centre midfield is the obvious spot to sign a big money player. Left back needs attention and then it’s wether we can secure tella and any potential loans to cover centre back and right back. 5 more isn’t unrealistic but I would i...

Leach isn’t a huge loss for me as we have better seamers and leach offers nothing with the bat so he’s useless if the pitch doesn’t suit spin. Could be a miss if a pitch starts turning on day 4 or 5 - if many games go that long.
