Are we going to get threads on here every time Heaton makes a save?
Aye, at least one each time he has a decent game, probably 3 or 4 if Villa are above us in the league.

I think we'll need a bit of help from the rain. I can see us lasting 4-5 hours but the full 90 overs will be problematic I think. Forecast currently is for light rain showers from the early hours up to around midday/early afternoon so that may ease our task. Hopefully a couple of the batters who far...

Fulham have still got Mitrovic (presumably the "lump up front") but some of their loans have returned home (eg Schurle). They've loaned out some of their big earners (eg Seri and Anguissa) to get them off the wage bill. Babel went on a free too so he's off the wage bill. Kept Mawson, Bryan and Cairn...

4 would be very good from fixtures including away games at teams finishing 5th and 7th last year + at home to Liverpool.
In early season, though, the "big" teams are sometimes still bedding in and can be more vulnerable - so let's hope for more.

Reminds me, after yesterday I'll have to do a goalkeeper swop, not sure that Villa's defence is up it. I wonder how many others had TH in their squads and if they'll retain?
Still a week+ to do a few changes as the likely teams become better defined.

They should've waited until after the transfer window closed, a couple of ins and outs could make a big difference at some clubs Eg if Zaha leaves Palace: top 2 scorers last season were Milivojevic with 12 (10 of them pens- a fair few "won" by Zaha) + Zaha with 10. Lancs are half way there in the 8th over, should be in the bag.

Durham are doing even better than Lancs: chasing 158 at Grace Road, 131-0 after 9.1 overs - should get what they need with 6 or 7 overs to spare.

Bairstow made a good catch for the first wicket but it doesnt alter the fact that he failed to move for one about a foot from him in the first innings and that his Test Match batting has been poor recently.

Excellent away win. I thought maybe we should've got 10-15 more runs after the start we had but it proved to be enough.
Mahmood & Faulkner are a good pair to have bowling at the end and Parky is usually good value in the middle overs. Worcs next at OT tomorrow, another good one to win.

Root definitely needing a good innings here after: not seemingly getting his team into test match mode on the morning of day1; getting out for 2 runs in the first innings, running out Denly (100% guilty). He needs to get 50 here to even get his balance into the black.

189-3 is a really good score - especially on a ground that isn't small. All the batters for Lancs scored at 130-175 per 100 balls. Scoreboard pressure told on Durham who kept losing wickets trying to keep somewhere near the rate - all out 117.

England bowled OK without it being at their best; 17 wides is too many.
England are strong favourites with the bookies (1/4 cf 3/1 for Kiwis) but a few early wickets would change that. All to play for still.
