Apparently the Saudis are now forgiven for the BelN illegal streaming. Strange how this prevented the takeover and not that Saudi Arabia is one of the most odious countries on Earth that shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the English Premier League.

I also remember the goal against Chelsea for the game mentioned above. Ralph used to have trick of flicking the ball and I think he used this for the goal. He was running the show until Harris did a hatchet job on him.

Re: New ground or redevelopment ?

Relocating the ground from Turf Moor would be a big mistake. With the ground situated close to the town centre people are constantly reminded of the club and probably is one of the reasons for so many locals supporting the club, something that is apparently higher for Burnley than most other clubs. ...

Ian Fleming lived locally in Kent and there is a plaque on the wall of The Duck pub in Pett Bottom that says 'You Only Live twice' was written there.
The strange thing is that Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay for ‘You Only Live Twice’.

Was watching this again on match of the day. The more I see it the angrier I get. I can cope with VAR if the decision is reasonably quick and it is correct. Wood was ruled out against Leicester, correctly, albeit for being millimetres out, whilst this was clearly obviously a penalty. Someone needs t...

Re: Time to experiment with our lineup/formation against Man City?

I noted that PSG allowed City to have most possessions and completely filled their penalty area to block off the tippy tappy football. City never cross and always try to pass their way through. OK, I know we don’t have Messi and co up front, but city do get frustrated with having every attempt.

Based upon current performances I would have to agree but in general I would say Pope is a better keeper. A lot these days does count on ability to play out but for me keeping the ball out of the net and dominating the area is more important.

This something that has bugged me for years. You can have a beer whilst watching cricket or rugby or a concert, etc. But it is illegal to do it when watching a football match. I agree that Jack Cork would be in my choice for CM but do remember that he was getting a lot of criticism on here last season. Maybe it’s a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder. I predict that Barnes will be dropped and that eventually people will be posting on here for him to be played again.

I suspect that we will be making a few signings including CM. I think Pace had already said that they are trying to catch up on team investment missed on the last few years (or words to that effect).

Just hope that the league position at that time is in a good position to maintain this investment.
