Re: Poker
Poker's probably easier to make money nowadays then it was. Too many just rock up thinking it's an easy game. I put a lot of time and effort in when I first started by watching the pro's/tournaments and reading books. The missus plays too and she's always asking me what I'd do in certain situations....

Re: Poker
Casinos are superb for poker, played in many. The downside to online is the speed. I've made a lot more money online as you can find the weaker opponents quicker - which is ultimately how you make the most money. Which casinos have you played in? A lot  Dusk til dawn, most Genting and Grosveno...

Re: Today’s lineups
True that. I was contemplating a small bet on Crewe today. Played more games than us, season starts earlier, we were splitting teams and focusing purely on fitness. I didn’t bother in the end. Exactly. Around 10/3 was a big price and you've pointed out the angles. I would never berate someone tryin...

Some people may think it's worth it. I wouldn't advise betting on friendlies but each to their own. Who am I to tell people what they should and shouldn't do. It's their money.jrgbfc wrote:Surely it's not worth it for betting on glorified training sessions though?

That's not necessarily true. I don't bet on friendlies but you can find decent angles and good prices knocking about (which is what gamblers look for).Tall Paul wrote:You'd have to have a serious gambling problem to be betting on preseason friendlies.

Re: England v New Zealand
New Zealand batted first. So they set the total runs needed to get. If this match had been played years ago NZ would've won if it was tied by way of losing less wickets. As the game was still tied after 1 super over each the next best thing to separate them was who had got the most boundaries in the...

That's all true, but another reason why we remember it so well and fondly is that it was the last occasion that everyone was able to watch live Test Cricket on terrestrial (BBC) tv. Selling out to SKY etc. may have brought financial benefits to the ECB, etc., but we've lost so much. (The same will ...

That was one of the best summers ever. It was everywhere. People who didn't usually watch cricket were watching cricket. Pubs were getting extra big screens and TV's because everyone in the pubs was watching it. Even the women. I doubt, for me, anything will beat the drama of that summer. But this A...
