Re: Kompany comments
Considering we got promotion ahead of schedule, I can't imagine the thinking is that we need to stay in the PL at all costs. If we do that's fine, if we don't we'll have a squad more than capable of getting us back up. Let's see how much we develop over the next couple of months. Problem with this ...

It’s all well and good being ‘cash healthy’ but there was a flip side to that which was to the detriment of the squad in the end and ironically resulted in the relegation. I don’t see any reason why Phillips shouldn’t come to us. The story is Pep wants him to get PL game time, they won’t want to send him to another Big 6 club ( or Newcastle!) he knows Kompany well and knows he will be playing a City-style of football. Why not Burnley?

Everyone seems to be including Berge but I’d be surprised given he hasn’t played any pre-season games and only had a few training sessions. I think the starting line-up will consist mainly of last season’s personnel - maybe O’Shea and Redmond (in the assumed absence of Benson) the exceptions.

It’s all very exciting but at what point does the squad become too big? Reminiscent of many a frustrating men’s performance at World Cups. Up against supposedly inferior opponents, but lacking the creativity and inspiration to overcome them. Everton have a ticket buy-back scheme which I think would be a great idea now we’re sold out of season tickets.
