I read Edward Heath’s Wikipedia entry earlier and it stated that he was a Burnley fan. I know he opened the Bob Lord stand, but, barring this, is there actually any evidence he supported the Clarets?

That was never how the rule was interpreted. Stanley Matthews was famous for getting to the goalline and crossing it back for the centre forward to score. If the "what is he doing on the pitch" interpretation had been in, virtually all of those goals would have been disallowed for Matthews offside....

Couldn’t agree more with this. It’s getting really frustrating. Especially towards the end of yesterday’s game when we saw more of the managers and missed a good chunk of the action. I find myself shouting “Show the game!!” all the time

The Crystal Palace stat is the most concerning one for me, especially given how few goals they score. I’m not buying the idea that this is due to Zaha as they’ve had more penalties than Liverpool who must have, what, ten times as many touches in the opposition box as Palace?

Here’s a suggestion. You go off the field for as long as you lie on the ground. Genuine injury, sub comes on, no problem. Wasting time for 30 seconds, then you leave your team with ten men for the next 30 seconds.

It’s getting to a point that penalty kicks should be gotten rid of. I think they should be replaced with a direct free kick, 25 yards from goal.
