I used to play at the Elite club in Accy in the early 70s when it was Alex's base, I remember a film crew at the club just after he won the World Championship in 1972. At the same time Dennis Taylor used it, he was an amateur when he first came over. The documentary implied that he lived in Accy. I...

Win the toss win the match. Can’t believe they are going to play the T20 World Cup under such conditions during the monsoon season too. Bit of a joke tbh Couldn’t agree more. It’s becoming a farce this series and the World Cup will be undermined if it’s a case of win the toss, win the game. Also, u...

I read Edward Heath’s Wikipedia entry earlier and it stated that he was a Burnley fan. I know he opened the Bob Lord stand, but, barring this, is there actually any evidence he supported the Clarets?

That was never how the rule was interpreted. Stanley Matthews was famous for getting to the goalline and crossing it back for the centre forward to score. The Crystal Palace stat is the most concerning one for me, especially given how few goals they score. I’m not buying the idea that this is due to Zaha as they’ve had more penalties than Liverpool who must have, what, ten times as many touches in the opposition box as Palace?

Here’s a suggestion. You go off the field for as long as you lie on the ground. Genuine injury, sub comes on, no problem. Wasting time for 30 seconds, then you leave your team with ten men for the next 30 seconds.

Added time to added time
Whenever Burnley are leading we always seem to face a significant chunk of added time to the ninety minutes. Every team exploits gamesmanship tactics when leading but we seemed to get punished where others don’t. Tonight we had an extra 45 seconds added to an already long five minutes. At Arsenal it...

It’s getting to a point that penalty kicks should be gotten rid of. I think they should be replaced with a direct free kick, 25 yards from goal. You can still score if you’ve got the skill but the incentive to cheat would be reduced. Takes the pressure off referees who can then judge infringements i...
