We've just got £25m in, let's try and improve the team and stay in the league, what is this defeatist Andy Carroll talk. I don’t write this as a Carroll backer but most on here wanted us to sign a striker before the out of the blue sale of Wood. We now therefore need two strikers as well as RM & CM...

One of the main reasons we have fallen down the table over recent years is the money that wealthier promoted clubs have spent. Wolves were excellent, Villa stayed up and are now improving, Saints have new money to spend, CP and BHA haven’t been tight and all play good attacking football that could b...

I'm pretty sure the transfer happened late July/early August as I was lying on a beach with my girlfriend in the south of France when I looked at the back page of an English newspaper I'd just bought. I was so amazed/angry I went to a payphone to ring home to check it was true. When I got home, I w...

Totally ambivalent about this sale. For all the fuss about his 10 goals a season the primary striker, in any side, in any division, should be scoring more and very few of them were special goals. He also missed more sitters than he scored. I do feel he’s missed Ash Barnes alongside him more than man...

Dobo was a shocker but the following March we were top of the league.
Taffy was a shocker but the way he celebrated when Derby won ont’Turf shortly after turned me off him.
Ralph was the one that hurt the most. He was a one man team at the time.

“Unable to compete” not sure what the reasoning is for that. We are in a window so sell one buy one. We also have experienced pros doubled up for every position. As there is zero confidence in the current team it might even be to our benefit.

Has any club ever come in for Ben Mee? Supposedly on silly wages I’d be amazed if he can get a better offer elsewhere. He might not have had his best season but none of them have.
Up or down he has to stay as our leader on the field.

Hidden Assets. A CAB investigation set in Ireland and Belgium.
We’ve had it over here on RTE and it’s a decent show.
Another we’ve had that I’ve never seen listed for UK was Bloodlands. James Nesbitt as a Belfast cop investigating a resurrected case from the troubles.

If ever there was a season to get out early this is it. Fixture backlog already. Likelihood of more to come. Chance of injuries and suspensions.
Here is a list of the last 24 winners, only two real upsets. I have no interest in it at all.

Good.
The third round tie 1972 with Liverpool, 0-0 but what a match.
Bad.
The Newcastle semi 1974.
The Watford qf when we didn’t turn up.
Was it an Everton replay when Willie Irvine had his leg broke? If so add that to the bads.
