At the time I said stop the flights no one thought this would be the outcome.
Only North Korea have not declared any cases, this is worldwide literally.

UK death rate not rising, but it's not slowing either, and if the experts are correct,in a couple of weeks this will only increase sadly. A further 46 people in England who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, NHS England has said. The patients were aged between 47 and 105 years old and all had und...

Do you want to go back to page 1 or so where I cited Prof. Neil Ferguson and 420k deaths? Or do you just want to make stuff up? You (the other poster will speak for himself I'm sure if he's minded to) have said done things that were right, some that were wrong and some that were mental. Monkeys, ty...

Some people’s perceptions were I was predicting an apocalypse. I don’t remember at any point predicting numbers in the future. What I was quoting were numbers of deaths as a percentage that looked really bad. Several weeks later those percentages still look horrible. I accept we have no idea how man...

Can you imagine the outrage if that was suggested 3 weeks ago? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Also it’s not hindsight, page 1 of this thread a couple of us said this was going to be serious. I thought we would end up going into lockdown but didn’t think people would accept it. Funnily enough peopl...

I have spent a week trying this but been out to the shops and taken the Mrs out for a drive. We have therefore significantly reduced our social interactions and tried the 2 metre rule too. I think the advice has been correct about this in so far as it is now getting to the point where this is a mus...

Re: Covid-19
A lockdown or not will unfortunately be determined by the number of dead people this week.
I really cannot understand people’s actions today.
They will be the ones moaning when we are in total lockdown.

We have just had a call from her eldest daughter, her mother in law has been told by 111. She probably has it and if her breathing gets worse to go to hospital. For someone who has been adopting the "worst case" position I'm surprised you've allowed your wife to ignore social distancing As far as is possible , she did do. Other half just nipped the Tesco Padiham. Much less people in but stocks still low or empty for lots of things. Plenty fresh veg.
She got me 3 bottles of beer, cannot believe I just sprayed them with disinfectant before putting them in the fridge.
How times are changing.

Largely agree with all that but if the NT hadn't told everyone they could visit parks etc. for free, perhaps people wouldn't have gone in droves? I was watching a senior nurse being interviewed on BBC about an hour ago. If I remember correctly she said they had 4 wards with Covid 19 patients in. One of those just doing palliative care. ICU had 3 or 4 beds left. Her biggest concern was PPE, not enough and not of the correct quality. She was sa...

Re: Covid-19
I guess the question is, does that matter if the numbers are still mirrored? At the end of the day if those numbers keep matching up closely, the fact it was in one region of Italy becomes irrelevant - those numbers will still be be similar. Unless there's a reason for those numbers to stop being c...

Re: Covid-19
That chart is strange in a way as the numbers definitely follow a pattern. Whilst it will get worse it has affected one region in Italy more than others and their family and healthcare structures are different. Currently it appears London is affected more than other regions. It is going to be the c...

Italy is in a worse state than China! Nearly 800 today alone.dead. Yes I saw that, watched the sky news feature, only one person in ICU had shown signs of recovery. The rest it seems are just dying. Considering we are only testing ill patients in hospital a rise of 1035 people to me is massive.
We need to really pull together and do the right things to get through this.
Glad to see some great companies stepping up to make ventilators, real shame mine was not one of them.

SARS actually mutated and became less dangerous. Some suggestion that has happened in Covid-19 in Singapore where it has shed some of its genetic structure. We live in hope. As a scientific comparison, what would you compare this virus with, other than flu? Not talking symptoms, seriousness, outcomes etc etc, but just a numbers comparison... In the end it is difficult. Covid 19 shares 95% of it dna with SARS. So it’s similar. To give that perspective. Orangutans and ch...
