Genuine quicks like Finn and Wood are only needed when we play in Australia. These four are good enough on our wickets. Here they don’t look like getting wickets on the pitches like Perth Totally agree with that. But we never learn and continue to take swing bowlers. We should have left one of them...

Trouble is, they've tried Cook and now Root as captain. Who else is there? Not sure. Anderson takes care of the bowlers on the field but he isn't going to last forever. Root stood out as the 'next captain' after Cook and hopefully he will regain his form. He is our best batsman by a country mile.

Looks a good toss to have won. Root said yesterday that he was going to bat first if he won it and 300/4 with 4 overs to go on the first day is a pretty good start. Steve Smith was moaning that the pitch wasn't hard enough which will suit our bowlers more than the Aussies and shut the whinging git up.
