Re: Man Utd and Spurs on for Pope
I'm more concerned about the lack of strength in depth at centre back which will be left cavernous if suitable replacements do not arrive in the wake of Tarky's predicted departure. That said the backbone of the squad needs new blood throughout. If those two leave in the summer, I would love to see ...

Re: Burn the blue.
With regards playing in yellow, back in the day, early to mid 80s, I developed a bit of a fear of the away teams at the Turf playing in that colour. I think we must have had a rotten record with teams taking the points after playing yellow (mind you I think we had a fairly rotten record against team...

Not particularly knowledgeable about Northern Soul, but as a trader of used records I am aware of it's ever popular appeal and have stumbled across some sought after items from time to time. I have seen a good number of those pictured.
Soul in all its different forms always sells well.

I followed it on the BBC live feed. I had no idea how much worthy of a result we were. I was surprised when I saw the match stats too, as we had supposedly been poor throughout, or that is how it seemed.
Fabulous.

They had seven on-loan players starting the game against us. That's a ridiculous amount. They came up, played some 'nice' footie, and will probably drop back down again. They remind me a bit of last season's Bournemouth. Powderpuff.

Re: What style of football would you like to see?
I really don't mind how we set up and how we play. What irks me is when we play a 'long pass' to the forwards it's 'long ball, direct football'. Yet I saw a kick from a goalkeeper at the weekend (City I think) who put his player straight through on goal, and that was 'clever play by the keeper' with...

Can’t say I’m looking forward to this. So many thumping in recent years going back to Stan’s tenure. Just the sound of Mahrez’s name gives me panic attacks. Mind you, so does Sterling, Gundogan... at least it won’t be De Bruyne tearing into us tonight. What a side they are. Fantastic to watch, when ...

Hopefully it's just Pace playing it down, but it does read as though we won't be signing anyone. I don't read it that way. He highlights the lack of activity across the PL. Only 6 transfers from 20 teams. I think he talks a lot of sense, especially with the Covid situation which is costing clubs an...

Personally, I have turned away from watching matches played to empty stadiums. The absence of the supporters, whoever's playing, leaves a huge chasm. The artificial 'crowd noise' that some broadcasters give you just doesn't do anything for me. Subsequently I have reverted to Radio 5 Live so I can ma...

BMG have been snapping up work from established artists for a few years now. A lot of names I grew up with in the 70s and 80s are now part of their roster. There was a time whenever any opposing player had the ball I feared the worst.
I always seemed to note, down the years, if the opposition had an ex-Rover or one on loan from them, they'd do well.
Wayne Gill on loan at Blackpool was one of those moments.

I was going to mention Bolton Wanderers, so I'll do it here.
We've all had a lot to say about them over the last decade, but their fall (well, tumble) from grace is given even more significance this evening. They are 2-0 at Barrow after 4 minutes.
I can't quite get my head around it.
