Didn’t think he was great today. But he seemed over the moon with the assist, which was very well picked out, and that shows the character of the guy - he’s a team player. Goals will come as we learn to play to his strengths, but he’s been a great addition to the team.

Surprised with the low marks. Thought he reffed the game pretty well despite a few minor errors. Let the game flow and didn’t fall for players dropping to the ground when touched. I’d much rather have that every week than some of the sh!te we get.

It wasn’t good business on both sides because there was no business on our side. It doesn’t look like great business for Newcastle, but then again they’ve got unlimited wealth so it doesn’t matter a jot to them.

In fairness we completely stopped Southampton from open play. They only posed a threat from set pieces. It was also very impressive how we completely killed the game from about the 80th minute.
