Re: Will Burnley vote Conservative in 2020?

On the FPTP point - there was a decisive referendum.

The labour position will not last .. my hunch is a defection to a revived lib dem. Or a labour split. Long term Scotland will not be a 1 party state either .. so opportunities for any party with a plan.

Rare league grounds

I wonder what the 'rarest' league grounds are that people here have been to. Rare in terms of either geographical remoteness from Burnley (e.g. Peterhead) or fleeting appearance in the league (E.g. Boston United, Rushden and Diamonds) or long time since they were in the league (e.g. Bradford PA, New...

Home fans were in the cricket field from the first prem season so that can be discounted as a factor.

For me it's the defence the midfield and the belief.

Re: 2009 League cup semi final

Not really a valid comparison though:

Hull have had recent fa cup final and other Wembley appearances

Several Old Trafford trips in last few years

A week after new year

All credit to the 1500

Re: Bringing More Asians to the Turf

Perhaps a key point here is whether you regard Burnley FC as a football club or an integral part of the community and of the town's national image. If the latter then an OTT effort to reach out to the Asian community is an obligation, recognising the deep historic barriers to attending. I remember t...

Re: Bringing More Asians to the Turf

I've always thought the club should do more in terms of 'affirmative action' e.g. Making sure Asian faces are included in promotional material like modelling the junior kit. Although I'm a bit disconnected so maybe that is happening these days.
