Re: UEFA Nations League

Yes I've heard of it, been in the pipeline for a while. The idea is to ensure teams play other teams of a similar ranking to themselves. I'd prefer us to be playing other top 20 nations most fixtures than smashing a group of crap teams then failing at a tournament as soon as we play anyone half dece...

Has anyone tried Premier Inn's 'purple sauce'?

I had it on a breakfast there and was impressed.

I hate those 'freemium' games. the games I do have on my phone that I've kept on my phone have been paid for ones*. You pay the flat fee up front but there's no constant pressure to keep paying. Those app developers have to get paid somehow and I'd rather it was this model. *Well apart from Pokémon ...

Unsmoked bacon, just about cooked (crispy is the devil's work), red sauce, white teacake, real butter

I'm an adult (at least in years) and it has to be red sauce for me, although I tend to go for sausage and egg rather than bacon.

Presumably he's forgot/neglected to put the heaters and covers on despite the forecasted freezing weather. Why they didn't just come out and say that rather than the slightly cryptic statement made I'm not sure.

Just a reminder to everyone that peaceful protest is a hallmark of ours and America's democracy. Trump himself said as much on Twitter last night. The vast, vast majority of these protestors did so peacefully. As ever with this type of thing, the odd nutcase lets themselves down, but some of the thi...

Re: Fifa Technical Director Van Basten has some ideas...

The 60 games per year argument seems particularly ill thought out.

A 21 year old goalkeeper and a 36 year old midfielder are going to have massively different amount of games they could feasibly play in one season.

Opta: Heaton is the PL's best performing 'keeper

Buried in an article about how bad Claudio Bravo has been this season is a piece of research by Opta which surmises that Tom Heaton has been the best performing goalie this season in terms of shot-stopping.

Another thing to be proud of :D

How about putting the lyrics to the songs on the big screen.

Last night the Owen Coyle song sounded like:

"Owen Coyle's a bstrd, he wears a bstrd's hat
Mumble mumble ... (silence) ... mumble that
He tried his hand at soccer... etc etc"

A note on the Cricket club bar, I hadn't been in there for aaages but I remember it being a good mix of home and away fans.

Went in last night and I'm sure me and my mate were the only Burnley supporters in there. Has something changed?

Can we change that unwritten rule that says the defender is allowed to practically wrestle the attacker to the ground in order to shepherd the ball out of play, but only at their own goal line. The same manoeuvre on the touchlines or opposite goal line are fouls.

That story is a massive pile of bull excrement, and I'm probably what Rowls would term an elitist leftie i.e. anyone left of his own position.

However, it certainly doesn't say "Burnley fans are racist", so the OP is also a massive pile of bovine doo-doo.
