Isn’t the issue on why we feel like we do the fact we didn’t have alternatives. To what extent was this due to Maatsen keeping both options open and misleading us. I can’t believe we weren’t confident of him signing if we were prepared to eventually pay whatever Chelsea demanded.

Obviously VK doesn’t see a role for Charlie due to not even being included on the bench for the two matches, but what about Ekdal , was he injured or should he also be looking for another club?

Seems bizarre given the reports that the clubs agreed a fee, he was given several days to decide whether he wanted to join us , decides then to indicate yes , so travels to the UK. Then it’s off. You start to think it’s more the club than the players that keep deciding to pull the plug at the death....

Didn’t see his brother in the squad for Villa yesterday at Newcastle, assume he is injured. Was interested to see how similar to his brother he plays , but must confess don’t recall Ramsey too much from last season when he played against us but well thought of by the Boro fans up here.

I don’t think Brownhill is technically good enough for the premier league. I agree, with VK trying to upgrade as he appears in most positions it’s difficult, with all the other qualities Brownhill has, that he cant see his technical limitations, even after all the intensive training he will be rece...

You would have to compare their debuts to Benson and Zaroury. One game and already they aren't as good....... I agree for some players, but not all. We're clearly still looking for balance but players like JBG, Cork, Rodriguez, Taylor, Twine (possibly Brownhill) just don't have the combination of technique and athleticism VK has mentioned so many times this preseason.
